Dirty minds...

I recently found the perfect hall pass for my class, Electronic Magazine. It's a good ol' magazine. That's right, my freshmen have to walk down the hall, to the bathroom, with a magazine. HA! Most of my students had a delayed reaction when I explained it to them, and then they thought it was funny.

For some of them, I had to explain even more:

"See? It's funny. If someone passes you in the hall, just wave the magazine and tell them you are on your way to the bathroom. Get it?"

"We get it, Ms. Richey. And that's not funny." They laughed...

Today, though, I heard a different interpretation. One of my former students commented, "I see, you want students to pass them and think your students are perverts on their way to the bathroom with a magazine."

To which I replied, "No. No. No. That's not the joke. Number 2. Not pervert!"

I forget how kids' minds work...
