The worst part is that it isn't that bad looking and can actually look soothing. Check it out:
Seems innocent, comfortable and welcoming--but don't actually sit on it. Past minute thirty, the couch begins to "loosen". That's the only way to describe it. After a while, the cushions wiggle their way off the 60 wires positioned for them to rest on, and you have no option but to get up, scoot the cushion as far back on the wires as possible, and sit there until it happens again.
On a side note: I bought this swag lamp for $5 today at an estate sale. It's going in the foyer, we think.
But, back to the furniture: It really was just for show all these years. You can't lie down on it for too long. The arms are solid wood. And pillows are not that good at protecting your head from that.
Here's a chair where a couple of wires popped. We never fixed it and just kept our butts on the right side of the chair...
I am going to miss this area. I would often read in the other chair. (This one's a rocker.) And this chair, believe it or not, is pretty comfortable. Although my legs fell asleep when I would hang them over the arms, but that could happen in any chair, right?
And so the end is near for you, dear furniture. We already brought home the first bundle of joy: the ottoman. See, my fuzzy blanket rests so well on it already.
Okay, drumroll please...
Here it is...
Our new living room!
Here's the couch.
And the chair, but I didn't want to get too comfortable, because Harrison already had his eye on it...
See?
Really funny, honey!
So, needless to say, we are very happy this evening and cannot wait until Monday. It won't be long until the Couch-Warming Party; invitations will be out soon...
Awesome! I love the colors and can't wait to meet your new bundles of joy!!
